AI Data Usage Transparency Policy

By default, your data is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to any server. If you choose to enable Private Sync Cloud (PSC), your data is synced to secure cloud servers. We operate servers in the United States, Germany, Japan, and Singapore, and your data is stored in the data center that corresponds to your region. PSC is disabled by default and requires you to opt in.
All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or above, and data at rest is protected using AES-256 encryption or equivalent.

Access Control

Only you can access, manage, and delete your AI data, whether it is stored locally on your device or in your personal cloud account via PSC. Technical measures are in place to ensure that no third parties, including our employees, have direct access to your data.

Data Retention

If you do not enable PSC, your data is retained only on your device and is not stored on cloud servers. If PSC is enabled, your data is retained on the server until you choose to delete it or disable PSC, at which point all cloud data is promptly deleted. You have full control and can delete your data at any time through the App.

Third-Party Service Providers

We work with trusted cloud service providers for secure data storage and management, and with AI service providers to deliver AI-powered features. We do not share your data for advertising or profiling purposes, nor do we disclose it to unrelated third parties, except as required by law or authorized by you.
All AI service providers are engaged under data processing agreements that impose strict purpose limitations, prohibit data retention beyond what is necessary to complete the requested task, and prohibit use of data for model training. We periodically review our sub-processors to ensure ongoing compliance with these obligations.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your AI data. You can exercise many of these rights directly within the App. For any requests you cannot complete within the App, please contact us at privacy@plaud.ai, and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Policy Updates

We may update this policy to reflect changes in legal requirements or business practices. Significant changes will be communicated via the App or our website.
